The Brief
The Red Dress showcase video for Yorkshire actor and model.
We loved making this showcase video for Yorkshire actor and model Kate Roseanne. It was filmed as an homage to an iconic dress from the Outlander TV series.
The Background
Yorkshire actor and model Kate Roseanne commissioned this outfit to wear at an Outlander fan convention. It’s inspired by the daring red dress lead character Claire Fraser wears in the second season of the show.
Kate received a lot of positive feedback, including from cast members and fellow fans. She wanted to build on this with a showcase video she could share through social media.
The Challenges
Capturing the essence of Kate’s joyful character and the dress’s details required a careful choice of location. We were looking to evoke the series’ historical feel without slavishly copying it.
We also needed to highlight the intricacies of the dress such as its bodice, sleeve setting and flared skirt. Using natural lighting in a woodland shows how sometimes keeping it simple is the best option.
